A Dream Within a Dream
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

Dreams of Happiness
Sunset, such a beautiful sight
The sun, the only light
Cuddling under a blanket to try to keep warm
Nothing every seeming out of the norm.
Are you happy? Of course…
Only smiles beaming from your face
Wouldn’t you too, like to be in this place?
Nothing else on your mind, but the joy of another
Not a care in the world… you are free
Too good to be true, this land of ecstasy.
Wake up, it’s all a dream
You can never be this happy it would seem
The sun doesn’t show through
The world is a cold blue
A dark cloud hovering
Hoping to some day break free
Free from the pain
With happinnes to gain.
When will the sun come out?
When will the rain of tears drought?
When will the smile be true?
When can I be happy, with you.
